Access global carriers. Bulk process 250 orders. Make shipping your competitive edge—all without leaving your admin.
The sale doesn’t end when someone clicks “buy.” It’s just the beginning. Repeat customers are won and lost during fulfillment. Yet for many merchants, fulfillment means juggling multiple systems—third-party apps, carrier websites, inventory tools—that fragment their workflow and eat up hours.
Today, we're announcing a fundamental shift in our built-in fulfillment capabilities. We're launching partnerships with the largest global carriers, introducing bulk order processing, and transforming time-consuming shipping tasks into streamlined workflows—all without requiring a single app. These updates are designed to cater to every merchant, whether you’re scaling up or starting out.
"Shipping used to be a necessary evil that pulled focus from running your business," says Vibhor Chhabra, Director of Product at Shopify. "Now you get a unified system that streamlines fulfillment workflows, so you can deliver fast and earn customer loyalty at any stage of growth."
Everything you need, already built in
From the moment an order notification pings to the moment a package arrives at a customer's doorstep, you can manage everything directly in the Shopify admin. Here’s what’s new when you ship with Shopify:
-
More carriers, better rates: Access exclusive rates from an expanded network of carriers worldwide. Partnerships include industry giants like DHL, USPS, UPS, FedEx, Canada Post, Purolator, Royal Mail, Australia Post, and Flexport. And many more will be added in the coming months.
- Ship faster with time-saving tools: Filter orders by status, destination, or any criteria you need, then select up to 250 orders to process together. With one click, buy and print labels for your entire selection, eliminating repetitive work. Pick lists with bin locations ensure you grab the right items every time, while package defaults for specific product variants automatically select the right box size. Smart recommendations that learn from your order history help you ship even faster.
- International shipping without the headache: Collect duties and taxes at checkout and purchase Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) labels from DHL Express and DHL eCommerce without leaving Shopify. Customs documentation generates automatically, making international shipping as easy as domestic.
- Built-in protection: Every label includes up to $200 insurance at no extra cost—available to U.S. merchants using Shopify Payments on the Grow plan and above. Meanwhile address validation and fraud detection help you catch costly shipping errors before packages ship. Need to file a claim? Do it right from your admin, so you can resolve issues fast and get back to selling.
These updates tackle the daily struggles that slow merchants down. Where order processing once meant hours of tab-switching and manual data entry, merchants now have operational efficiency by default.
Shipping that drives sales
When done right, fulfillment becomes your best selling point. Automatic tracking updates keep customers informed via email and the Shop app, giving them real-time visibility while dramatically reducing "where's my order?" support tickets. This saves merchants time on support responses, while every smooth delivery experience builds customer loyalty, drives repeat purchases, and encourages word-of-mouth referrals.
“We know that navigating customs clearance, duties and tax compliance fulfillment, in addition to finding a dependable delivery and fulfillment partner, can be complex without expert assistance,” says Katja Busch, Chief Commercial Officer DHL and Head of DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation. “The partnership between DHL and Shopify allows merchants to tap into DHL’s expertise and use our unrivaled network, products and services effortlessly. It’s all geared to enabling merchants to deliver to their customers in a hassle-free manner.”
And returns no longer mean lost revenue. Merchants can offer exchanges or store credit to preserve revenue, generate discounted return labels with a few clicks, and automatically restock inventory—all without leaving Shopify.
With these tools, shipping becomes a sales advantage, not just a back-office task.
Scaling without switching
These tools grow with your business. A merchant selling from their garage uses the same foundation as one managing warehouse operations.
For those ready to outsource fulfillment entirely, our fulfillment network now connects merchants to more trusted partners including Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment, Bigblue, DHL Fulfillment Network, GoBolt, and Mayple. Merchants can now monitor order status, shipping performance, and inventory levels with 3PL partners. No switching between platforms—everything runs through Shopify.
"We're not just solving today's shipping challenges," adds Vibhor. "We're building infrastructure that adapts from day one to every stage of growth."
Ready to ship? Let’s go.
To get started, there's nothing to install, no apps to configure, no monthly fees to calculate. Every Shopify merchant has access to these fulfillment tools all in one place. In a world where two-day delivery has become table stakes, merchants need every advantage they can get. Now they have it—built right in.
